The Office Apprentice will work as a key member of the school office team, providing support to and covering every function of this critical front-of-house function. The role includes dealing with visitors and incoming calls, photocopying, filing, handling mail, typing, first aid (once trained), maintaining up to date registers of attendance and a wide range of other support tasks to maintain the smooth administration of the school office.

Our three most recent apprentices (one Business Admin and two IT Technician) all had their contracts extended after completing their apprenticeship. Two were given permanent contracts. The post is all-year-round, with 26 days of bookable holiday plus eight bank holidays. Holiday should normally be taken in the school holiday periods. The appointment will be offered on an 18-month fixed-term basis.
From April 2022 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £4.81 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.
