As the Domestic Energy Assessor Trainer, you will work you closely with other internal stakeholders to include the Head of Operations and Major Projects and the Head of Quality to ensure that training solutions are compliant with the aims of the service, are of a high standard, legally compliant and meet the expectations of both internal and external Stakeholders. The post holder will ensure frequent and effective communication between partners and staff members building strong relationships and maintaining Runway Training’s strong reputation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To help develop and plan effective and engaging programme of delivery
  • To plan and deliver underpinning knowledge through classroom based workshops and one to one sessions in the workplace ensuring individual learning needs are met
  • Maintain a high standard of training and assessment and ensure performance targets are achieved.
  • To undertake assessment of learners’ work in accordance with the awarding organisation’s standards and demonstrate this through the quality of the learner’s portfolio/evidence and a high degree of feedback and action planning.
  • Motivate and inspire learners through the programme to ensure learners successfully complete their qualifications within an appropriate timescale
  • To provide impartial Careers information advice and guidance to learners and employers in a variety of locations and through a variety of delivery methods.
  • To use the Centre’s e-portfolio and/or paper system to effectively record, plan and track individual learner progress in accordance with the Centre’s stated paperwork and reporting processes.
  • Keep all required records for audit purposes and provide the Delivery Manager and/or Quality Manager with required information within given timescales.
  • Follow the Centre’s procedures and quality assurance processes with all learners at all times and to assist in preparing for and responding to EQA visits as required
  • Attend team and standardisation meetings as required (attendance is mandatory in order to meet Awarding Organisation requirements).
  • Attend staff training days as required.
  • Promote the company and its services and provide excellent levels of assessment practice and customer service at all times.
  • Work within the company policies and procedures with particular regard for health and safety, equality and diversity, safeguarding, prevent and learner welfare
  • To participate fully in the company’s Staff Review process and undertake agreed staff development activities.
  • To work as an active member of the team by sharing information, ideas and initiatives and regular communication and provide support and assistance to all colleagues to ensure service levels and company objectives are achieved
  • Other related tasks and activities as may be reasonably required by management to ensure the effective operation of its business
  • To keep abreast of changes and developments in the provision of products and services offered by the company
  • Completion of all and any other duties as reasonably requested by the Delivery Manager.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Domestic Energy Assessor Qualification
  • L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Competence or other assessing qualification (or a willingness to work towards this)
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics

Desirable

  • L3 Award in Education and Training or other teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards qualification)
  • Level 2 IAG qualification

Experience

Essential

  • have occupational expertise relevant to the inspection and reporting of residential property for energy assessment inspection purposes
  • have a sound knowledge and understanding of the most recent version of RdSAP
  • have recent relevant experience in the specific area they will be assessing.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering up to and including Level 2 Functional Skills
